Join British Cycling or the CTC

All members who ride in club events must be members of British Cycling (BC), the Cyclists' Touring Club (CTC) or a similar organisation which provides third party liability insurance (PLI).

 As a guide, if you intend to race competitively on the road, you will need a race licence as provided by British Cycling and so joining BC is your only realistic choice. Silver membership £34.

If you are a leisure cyclist who would like the support that a national organisation dedicated to the welfare and interests of ordinary cyclists offers then the CTC is your port of call. Adult membership £35

If you are an 'everyday cyclist' who wants cheap PLI then the protection package offered by the BC offshoot EverydayCycling.com is for you. Protection pack £22.
