24th June Inter club event with Cleveland Wheelers at Longnewton.

Stockton Wheelers' 'Dirty Dozen' gave Cleveland Wheelers a good run for their money in the second leg of the inter club competition. The top five were Stu Whitell, Callum Grieve, Gary Worton, Jeff Belt, and Mike Vickers were 2'18"behind another strong team from Cleveland Wheelers, giving them an overall lead of 3'47". Thanks also to Taylor Cardus, John Close, Duncan Woods, Jeff Crawford, Jen Howse, Brian Walker, Colin 'the hat' Lowe, and Jane McLoughlin for representing the club. Jane managed to hold on to her food this time to beat three of the opposition. Thanks to Les, Becky and Mathew for marshalling on what was a perfect night for racing.

17th June Inter club event with Cleveland Wheelers at Stokesley

A record breaking twelve members rode in the first leg of this year's inter club event. Our five counting riders, Stu Whitell, Callum Grieve, David Wilson, Gary Worton and Jeff Belt were only 1'29" behind a strong Cleveland Wheelers team. Our other riders were Taylor Cardus, Athel Lawton, John Close, Jen Howse, Mike Vickers, Colin Lowe and Jane McLoughlin, who unfortunately parted company with her tea and could not continue.

Next week we entertain Cleveland Wheelers at Longnewton. If you can ride please come and represent the club. if you can't ride please come along and support the riders and marshal a roundabout.

28th March, next Ladies ride, Pinchinthorpe Woods

The ladies bike ride for this month.  I have scoured trail rides and not got anywhere very exciting so thought we could go to Pinchinthorpe Woods near Guisborough.  Duncan is going to plan a route that doesn't encompass too many hills and no single track.  I suggest we meet at the woods for 10:00am.  If anyone wants a lift I can transport bikes if someone else can do people.  Please put on website.  If I'm to pick anyone up it would be from 9:15 onwards.  If anyone has any better ideas please get in touch I'm only too happy to listen to them.  Cheers Jayne tel 01740 621850.

31st January Ladies Ride

On Sunday 31st January a new group of Stockton Wheelers lady riders ventured out on our inaugural ladies sunday bike ride.  There were eight participants who, despite the cold, icy conditions met up at the cafe by the Thorpe Thewles entrance to Castle Eden walkway.  We cycled the path ways for about and hour finishing with a coffee at the cafe around midday.  We agreed to make this a monthly meeting.  Our next meeting will be on February 28th at the same place.  We hope for better weather next time so that we might go a little further.  We will still finish at the cafe with a coffee where we hope to plan some future rides perhaps a little further a field. So ladies if you would like to join our friendly group make a note of the date 28th February and come a long and join us.  It would be lovely to see some more faces there. If you need anymore information please don't hesitate to phone me, Jayne Woods, on 07837119983.

A further development.  As it is the 50 in 4 next Sunday 7th February, I am planning to meet at Sainsbury's carpark at the usual time 9'o'clock and go out for about 30-35 miles with a coffee stop.  Again anyone who wants to join me is more than welcome.  We won't leave anyone behind. Hope to see you there, Jayne.
