SWCC Family BBQ at Hamsterley Forest

On Saturday June 6th, from 1pm onwards, as part of a new range of social events we will be having a Stockton Wheelers Family BBQ!

Bring your own items for the BBQ or picnic, and we will cook it on our BBQ (bring your own BBQ if you wish).

There are lots of things to do including cycle hire and cycle shop, adventure playground for the kids, forest drive and walking routes. The forest is a magnet for mountain bikers and cyclists, attracted by a wide range of cycling experiences, from the training loop and top quality off-road cycle trails, to the high octane four-cross and downhill mountain bike courses provided by Descend Hamsterley.  The cycle hire shop is there if you want to try MTB but only have a road bike.

Ride there & back or drive there, cycle or mountain bike around the forest and then drive home, don't ride at all - the choice is yours.  Some of us will be heading around the red MTB route as a group if you want to do that.

Cost of entry to forest drive: £4 per car there is no charge for visitors on foot or cycle.

As with everything like this, it is entirely weather dependent and subject to cancellation in adverse weather, and notification will be given on Twitter and Facebook on the morning of the event, if it is to be cancelled.  No news means the event is on.

By car: The forest is signposted off the A68, north of West Auckland. Please note, vehicles are charged on the Forest Drive to access the Forest and it’s facilities (charging details above).
