Limitless
British Cycling launched the Limitless program in February 2023 to promote inclusive cycling and make it more accessible to people with a disability or impairment that would prevent them from taking part in mainstream activities.
Shortly after the launch the Stockton Wheelers achieved the status of Limitless Champion Club and began regular inclusive Cycling sessions.
There are two sessions, one aimed at visually impaired riders using tandem bikes and a second session which is intend for riders with other disabilities. The sessions cater for riders of all ages that require supervision or assistance and include tricycles, hand cycles and recumbents.
The sessions are from 1:00 to 3:30pm on Saturday afternoons, every two weeks for the tandem sessions and every 2-4 weeks for the inclusive sessions. Events are advertised on the Stockton Wheelers Facebook page approximately one week in advance.
Both the tandem and inclusive sessions take place at Middlesbrough Sports Village (TS4 3AE) on a 1km smooth, traffic free circuit surrounded by a fence around the perimeter. This provides an ideal safe and controlled environment. The sessions are supported by experienced volunteers with current DBS certificates.
The Limitless sessions we deliver will provide opportunity to exercise, develop new skills, promote positivity and wellbeing, and for those who wish to, the opportunity to pursue paracycling as a sport. We look forward to meeting you and hope you will join us as we begin this exciting journey.
